Trianon Archive System - Version Photos 002a
When you start, you will see the first page of 12 thumbnail pictures.
Below them, you will see a set of buttons to choose a different page or to go to the
next or previous page. As you get to the higher numbers, more pages will appear
(if there are any more)
Next to the page buttons is a button to turn on or off the display of picture dates and key words
Click on any of the pictures for a full sized version - each in a new tab.
Feel free to play with this, but you may well find problems with it. I already know about the following problems :-
Searching for dates doesn't do anything as I haven't written that bit yet.
Key word searching won't get you very far as there are very few pictures with key words
to identify them. There will be a team working on adding key words and dates. Try
Chris
and you should see the search working.
When you have found something with a Search, the Page buttons will probably go much further
than the available number of pages. This is a bug I have not yet tried to fix.
If you have logged in, then you can edit the dates and key words for the pictures.
In the Search screen, switch on the key words. Find a picture you want to edit. Click on the date
or any of the key words and you will be taken to an editing screen.

Trianon Archive System - Version Photos 002a
You now have the picture date and key words (which you can edit), buttons for the previous or next picture
(at present these are the previous and next in the system but later will apply to your search results),
an Update button to make the changes you require, a button to go back to your search results, and a Help button which
you must have found already to get here!
The date box will accept a variety of formats, eg
2001,
Jan 2001,
4January2001, etc.
If the system doesn't
understand your date, it will turn the box red (but you will still be able to make the update).
For the date search to work
(when I write the code!) dates will have to be complete and in a standard format so that they can be compared.
I will complete them so that, eg
1991 will become
1 Jan 1991 and
September 2012
will become
1 Sep 2012.
When entering key words, please try to think what people will be looking for. For example the picture might be
taken at the
Royal Hospital School, but people might search for
Holbrook or
RHS. If you put
them all in the key words, then more people will find the pictures they want!
Happy editing
